Ranking a website, and why it starts on day one

A site nobody finds is not a site, it is a buried brochure. Organic search decides who sees you — and it is not improvised at the end of the project.

SEO in one sentence

Organic search — SEO, for search engine optimisation — means giving search engines the means to understand your site, then to judge it worth proposing to someone looking for what you do.

Google does not reward sites that try to please it. It rewards those that actually answer a search intent, fast, clearly, on any device. Every technique below is only a way to make that answer obvious to a machine.

That is also why there is no SEO pack to tick: useful work depends on what actually blocks on your site. Sometimes it is structure, sometimes speed, sometimes simply that your pages do not speak your clients' vocabulary.

What we work on, concretely

Floors to clear, families of blockage. An audit starts by determining which one is stuck.
  1. 01

    Semantics

Your pages must use the words your clients type, not those of your internal jargon. That starts with titles, heading hierarchy, and the intent of each page: one page, one subject, one main query. Two pages aiming at the same keyword compete with each other.

  2. 02

    Technical performance

Image weight, unused JavaScript, blocking CSS, a slow server: every second of load costs visitors and positions. Google measures these signals precisely (LCP, INP, CLS) and folds them into ranking. We treat them as design constraints, not a catch-up.

  3. 03

    Indexability

An engine must be able to crawl your site without getting lost: clean URLs, an up-to-date sitemap, canonical tags, correct redirects, structured data. This is the invisible part of SEO, and often where the most expensive blockages sit.

  4. 04

    Mobile

Google indexes the mobile version of your site first, including to rank results shown on desktop. A site whose mobile version is degraded is a site penalised everywhere.

  5. 05

    Reputation and links

Inbound links remain a major trust signal. Relevant professional directories, partners, local press, a business profile: a few legitimate links are worth more than a hundred bought ones, which turn against you.

  6. 06

    A living site

A site frozen for years sends a clear signal. Publishing regularly — news, case studies, answers to your clients' questions — keeps indexing alive and multiplies doors into your activity.

03 / 07

Local search, in France and elsewhere

For a nearby activity, much of the useful traffic plays on geo searches and on the map, before your site even appears.

  • 01

    Business profile

A complete Google Business Profile, correctly categorised and fed with reviews, often weighs more than a perfect homepage. It is the first job for a local activity.

  • 02

    Area pages

One page per area you actually work — not duplicated over and over with the city name swapped. Google recognises that pattern and devalues it.

  • 03

    Consistent coordinates

Name, address, and phone identical everywhere: site, directories, networks, structured data. Gaps dilute the local signal.

What an Anym audit contains

  • A reading of what exists: positions, pages that work, dead pages, real competition on your queries.
  • A technical diagnosis: indexing, performance, structure, structured data, blocking errors.
  • A content architecture: which pages to create, which to merge, which to delete and redirect.
  • A ranked plan, with what is fixed in a day and what needs a programme.
  • Implementation, if you want it, and measurement of its effect in Search Console.

What we get asked most

The answers we give anyway at the first conversation.

How long before SEO results show?

Technical fixes show in a few weeks. Position gains on competitive queries are counted in months. Any promise of a first page in a fortnight is a warning sign.

Is SEO included when you create a site?

The foundations, yes: architecture, semantics, performance, structured data, sitemap, and redirects are part of website design. Ongoing content work and follow-up is a separate accompaniment, because it has no natural end.

Should you do SEO or online ads?

They do not fill the same role. Ads buy immediate traffic and stop with the budget; SEO builds an asset that keeps producing. On a lasting activity, SEO remains the better cost-to-yield ratio in the medium term.

Do you guarantee a position on Google?

No, and nobody can honestly: ranking depends on a private algorithm and on your competitors. What is committed is the work done and its measurement — followed positions, traffic, conversions.

Is your site findable?

Send us its address. We look at what blocks and tell you what is fixed quickly.
